If you have a Starter limit, you can sell up to $500 as soon as your seller profile is approved, before you verify your identity. Once your identity is verified, the limit is removed permanently and you can sell without limits.
If you verified your identity when you signed up, you don't have a Starter limit.
How the Starter limit works
It's a one-time total. It doesn't reset, and it doesn't expire.
Every sale counts: Tap to Pay, Payment Link, Website, and Booking.
A sale that goes over your $500 Starter limit is declined in full.
Refunds don't give room back.
Check how much you have left
Tap your name at the top left of the app.
Look at the Sales card. It shows your $500 Starter limit and how much you've sold.
If you don't see the Sales card, update the app.
After each sale, Jim also shows how much you've sold and how much is left until sales pause. Tap Verify Now to verify your identity.

When a sale goes over the limit
Before you charge, Jim shows a warning, for example Sale's $10 over your Starter limit, with how much you have Left on Starter. Choose one:
Tap Charge [amount left] Now to charge only what's left.
Tap Verify Identity to remove the limit. Once you're approved, you can charge the full amount.
If a sale goes over what's left, it's declined and the app shows This sale exceeds your $500 limit.
When you reach your $500 Starter limit, sales pause until you verify your identity. Your Sales card then shows Sales paused.
If you turn on Allow link reuse while you have a Starter limit, Jim warns you first: a reusable Payment Link stops accepting payments when you reach your $500 limit, and you won't receive money from it until you verify your identity. See How to use Jim's Payment Link?
What still works
The Starter limit only applies to sales. You can still use your Jim Card and cash out to your bank, even when sales are paused.
Remove the limit
When you're close to your limit, you may also see Verify your ID on the Home screen.
Verify your identity to remove the Starter limit permanently:
Tap your name at the top left of the app.
On the Sales card, tap Verify Identity.
Follow the steps in the app.
Once you're approved, the limit is removed permanently and you can sell without limits.

While you have a Starter limit, Jim may ask you to verify your identity when you log in again or use a new phone.
Security review
Every sale, with or without a Starter limit, goes through an automatic security review. A sale can be declined if something unusual is detected. Declined sales can't be appealed: try another card or send a Payment Link. Can't sell with your phone at all? See I am not able to sell using my device. What should I do?
