The JIM Payment Link makes it easy to receive payments from customers who are not physically present. You can send a secure, personalized link so your customer can pay with a credit card from anywhere. It’s a fast, safe, and reliable way to accept payments remotely while staying compliant with card security standards.
What is the JIM Payment Link?
The Payment Link is a feature in the JIM app that lets you create a link for a specific sale amount. Once generated, you can share it with your customer via text message, email, or any messaging app. Your customer then opens the link, enters their card details, and completes the payment online.
Which payment methods are supported?
The JIM Payment Link currently supports the most common credit cards:
Visa
Mastercard
Apple Wallet
Google Wallet
At this time, JIM transactions do not support tipping for remote transactions.
What are the fees?
Each payment link transaction includes a processing fee of 4.99% + $0.30 per payment.
You can choose who pays this fee:
Customer pays the fee: The total price increases slightly to include the processing cost.
Merchant pays the fee: The total price stays the same for the customer, and the fee is deducted from the merchant’s balance.
How to create a payment link?
Make sure your app is updated and follow these simple steps to create and share a Payment Link in your Jim app.
Open your Jim app and enter the sale amount in US dollars (must be greater than $1).
On the sale review screen, choose the Payment Link option instead of Tap to Pay.
Adjust your settings
The app shows you the final amount the customer will pay and how much you’ll receive.
Tap Charge to create the link.
You can copy it or send it directly through your preferred communication method (SMS, email, or messaging apps).
How your customer pays?
When your customer clicks the link, they’re directed to a secure payment page showing your business name, the sale amount, and any note you added.
Using Google Pay or Apple Pay is safer and easier! Your customers can also enter their credit card number, expiration date, CVV code, name, name on card, billing address, and email address.
The payment is securely processed, usually in just a few seconds. Depending on the bank, the customer may be asked to confirm the payment through 3D Secure (for example, using an SMS code or app confirmation).
Both parties receive an email confirming that the payment was successful. The funds are then scheduled for settlement according to your account’s payment timeline.
