How does tipping work in Jim?

Tipping lets your customer add a tip during a Tap to Pay sale.

Tipping gives your customers the option to leave a tip during a Tap to Pay sale.

You turn it on right after entering the sale amount, and your customer sees a tip screen before they pay.

It's a simple way to collect more tips without asking out loud or relying on cash.

How tipping works

When tipping is enabled, your customer sees a tip screen before they tap to pay. They can:

  • Pick a suggested amount

  • Enter a custom tip

  • Skip

The tip is added to the sale total and processed in the same transaction. One tap, one sale, tip included.

How to enable tipping during a sale

  1. Open the Jim app.

  2. Type any amount (more than $1).

  3. Choose Tap to Pay.

  4. Tap Add a tip and choose the %.

  5. Confirm.

  6. Click on Charge.

Tips are already enabled in Jim, and you can customize the tip options anytime to match the way you do business.

Adjust your tip settings, or turn the feature off if you prefer.
