Profit Booster lets you pass credit card fees to your customer on a sale.
Leave it off when you want the customer to pay exactly the amount you typed and the fee to come out of your payout.
This option is available on Tap to Pay and Payment Link.
You choose it per sale before you charge. Once the customer pays, that choice is locked for that sale.
When Profit Booster is on, your customer pays 100% of the processing fee for that sale.
Jim shows a higher fee percentage on the fee line and adds that cost into the customer total so your net payout can match the sale amount you entered.
When it is off, the customer pays the amount you entered and the standard fee comes out of your payout.
How to use Profit Booster
Open the Jim app.
On Sell, enter the sale amount ($1 minimum).
Tap Sell Now.
Choose Tap to Pay or Payment Link.
Turn Profit Booster on or off.
Expand the values if you want to see Sale amount, Tap fees (or the fee line for your method), Total amount, and what you will charge.
Confirm Total amount and tap Charge.
Finish the tap or share the Payment Link as usual.
Always check the live numbers on Current sale for that sale. Receipt / sale details can show Fees with the percentage and dollar amount, Customer total, and Net payout.
Example: $100 Tap to Pay sale
| Profit Booster off | Profit Booster on |
What you entered | $100.00 | $100.00 |
Fee line | Tap fees (1.99%) $1.99 | Tap fees (2.99%) $3.08 |
Customer pays | $100.00 | $103.08 |
Your net payout | $98.01 | $100.00 |
Who pays the fee | You (from your payout) | Customer (100% of the fee) |
In short: with Profit Booster off, your customer pays $100 and you keep about $98.01 after the Tap fee. With Profit Booster on, your customer pays $103.08 (sale plus the fee), you keep the full $100, and the customer covers 100% of the processing fee.
Always trust the live breakdown on Current sale in your app. Rounding can vary slightly by amount.
FAQ
Can I change it after the customer pays?
No. Set it before you charge. After payment, that sale’s fee setup is locked.
Is it always on or always off by default?
You choose per sale. We do not document one fixed default. Check the toggle on Current sale each time.
Does the customer pay the full fee when Profit Booster is on?
Yes. When Profit Booster is on, the customer pays 100% of the processing fee for that sale (it is built into the total they pay). When it is off, you absorb the fee from your payout.
