Your seller profile is how Jim verifies your identity and business so you can take payments. Until you’re approved, you can’t sell with Tap to Pay or Payment Link, spend on the Jim Card, or cash out.
Setup is straightforward: share a few business details, confirm who you are with a photo ID and facial recognition, set a Jim Card PIN, then wait for review. Most sellers finish in a few minutes in the app.

Who can sign up
To create a seller profile you need to:
Be 18 or older
Be able to sell in the United States (Jim is available in all 50 states)
Operate in a supported industry
Jim is for commercial entities in select industries. If your business type isn’t supported, registration can be denied. Review the list before you start: Unsupported industries.
What to have ready
Gather this before you tap Get started:
An iPhone or Android phone with NFC and up-to-date software (not jailbroken or rooted)
The Jim app installed, with a data connection (Wi‑Fi or cell)
A government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport)
Your date of birth
A full address that matches your ID (residential or business)
Your business category and a short business description
Camera access so you can photograph your ID and complete facial recognition
You do not need a bank account to create a seller profile or to start selling. A bank is only required if you want to cash out by ACH later. See Do I need a bank account to use Jim?.
Tip: Allow camera permission when the app asks. Jim needs it for identity verification. More detail: What permissions does Jim need to function properly?.
How to create your seller profile
Open the Jim app.
Tap Get started.
Enter your business and personal details when prompted, including:
Business category
Business description
Date of birth
Full address (use the same address that appears on your ID)
Take a clear photo of your ID (driver’s license or passport).
Complete facial recognition (selfie / liveness check) so Jim can match you to the ID.
Create and confirm a PIN for your Jim Card (you’ll also use this PIN to confirm ACH cash outs later).
Follow any extra verification prompts if the app asks for them.
Submit and wait for review.
Tip: Use good lighting, keep your full ID in frame, and enter your name and address exactly as they appear on the ID. Mismatches are the most common reason review takes longer.
What happens after you submit
Jim’s verification team reviews your information.
You’ll get an email when you’re approved, or if Jim needs more information.
Approval often completes quickly.
The most common delay is an ID and address mismatch. Double-check that the address you typed matches your document.
You can’t take sales until the profile is approved. If something looks wrong after you submit, don’t create a second account. Contact support instead (details at the bottom of this article).

Good to know: There is no monthly fee to keep a Jim seller account. You pay when you sell, or when you ACH. The Jim Card is free to have and to spend.
Stay in good standing
Approval is the start. To keep selling without interruptions:
Take real sales for real goods or services. Don’t process fake or “test” charges you can’t support.
Don’t use Jim for self-financing (running your own card or a friend’s card just to move money onto the Jim Card).
That can lead to declines, holds, or account action.
Keep your profile details current (legal name, address, business info).
Respond quickly if Jim asks for more documents or a business validation.
